Rhinoplasty
(Nose‌ correction)

About the operation

Nose correction /RHINOPLASTY/ is one of the most frequent corrections in aesthetic facial surgery and is certainly one of the most surgically demanding and most dynamic surgical procedures. Surgeon's experience and sense for complete facial aesthetics are the most prominent features of this operation, while the result achieved may give more balanced and attractive appearance to the whole face. The aesthetic nose operation may often be combined with the so called functional correction of the nasal septum - SEPTOPLASTY, which allows for simultaneous aesthetic and functional aspect of the nose to be corrected with one operation. Using the approach of surgical incision inside the nostrils, any external scars are avoided and the recovery is faster and generally - painless.

Pre-operative procedure

Before any surgery, which also includes nose correction, after the surgical examination it is necessary to perform all required laboratory tests, including ECG and sometimes X-Ray of the facial bones (generally, only with patients with severe nose trauma). Besides laboratory results it is also preferable to make an appointment with an internist/ or anaesthetist who will make examination that approves the approach to the surgery. On the day of the operation you should arrive at the POLYCLINIC fasting (no eating or drinking), bring all personal documentation, and our personnel will provide you with all other necessary instructions before the operation in order to make the procedure for you as simple as possible.

Anaesthesia

The nose correction is generally performed using general anaesthesia thus enabling the patient total comfort and painless procedure. The anaesthesia is applied and supervised by an experienced anaesthesiology specialist, using cutting-edge anaesthetic equipment and monitoring, as well as the highest quality anaesthetics, thus providing complete safety for the patient.

Operation

The nose correction surgery starts only after the patient is completely asleep using micro-incisions inside the nostrils for entering the anatomy structure of the nose and thus avoiding any scars on the skin of the nose. The nose is slowly formed towards the preferred new shape by using a series of specially designed instruments, considering the whole facial structure so the final result could be as balanced and natural looking face and nose as possible. After the surgery is completed, the incisions inside the nostrils are carefully connected using absorbable sutures that need no extraction and small swabs are placed in order to ensure correct adaptation of the nasal mucosa and prevent possible nasal bleeding through incisions. On the outside the AQUAPLAST is set - a special material for fixing the new position of nasal bones, as well as the whole newly designed structure of the nose. After Aquaplast is placed, the surgical procedure is completed and the patient may wake up.

Post-operative procedure

After the nose correction surgery is completed and the patient awakes from anaesthesia, the patient remains in the POLYCLINIC for 2 - 3 hours under supervision of the staff in order to completely awake and stabilise. After that, they can be released and accompanied home. Each patient gets the number of our "emergency telephone number" which they can use to call the polyclinic personnel at any moment. Two days after the surgery the swabs are removed from the nostrils so the patient may breathe through the nose, and 5 to 6 days after the surgery the external fixation – AQUAPLAST - is removed so the patient may return to his/her everyday activities. The avoidance of major toils is preferable during first two weeks after the surgery and not wearing glasses for 4 weeks after the surgery. Lymphatic drainage is recommended in order to absorb potential post-operative edema as soon as possible. Further details on post-operative recovery will be available in due time from our personnel being at your disposal.

Otoplasty
(Correction of protruding auricles)

About the operation

The correction of protruding auricles is a frequently performed surgical operation that can be done even in the childhood, i.e. after 7 years of age, since the auricles growth is completed by that time. In our institution we operate on children up to 12 years under general anaesthesia, so they do not experience any discomfort, while for patients older than 12 years we generally use local anaesthesia. The proper performance of the procedure and reconstruction of the ear cartilage achieves the permanent solution and solves the "lop ears" problem forever.

Pre-operative procedure

If the surgery has been planned under general anaesthesia, it is necessary to perform complete laboratory tests, as well as ECG and internist/or anaesthetist’s examination. However, if the surgery is planned with the use of local anaesthesia, analysis of the blood test and coagulation profile should suffice. The patient preparation is performed depending on the type of anaesthesia, which our personnel will explain to you in detail.

Anaesthesia

For the otoplasty the anaesthesia is usually local, administered behind the auricle in the area of, so called, incision. For the children under 12 years of age, total anaesthesia is recommended in order to avoid any possible discomfort or fear. Since the surgery requires very short time, the applied anaesthesia also lasts shortly.

Operation

There are several techniques for solving the problem of otapostasis, i.e. protruding ears. At the first examination the surgeon will suggest the best approach and the surgery is always performed through the incision made through the crease behind the auricle and is usually invisible. In order to ensure permanent result, sometimes it is also necessary to reconstruct the ear cartilage. The operation procedure lasts about an hour, is completely painless and, if the surgery is performed using local anaesthesia, the patient may go home 20-odd minutes after the procedure.

Blepharoplasty
(Correction of eyelids and eye circles)

About the operation

Today, corrections of upper and lower eyelids are performed using a radiowave knife or laser, thus being completely bloodless. They could be performed using either local or general anaesthesia and the minimal scar on upper eyelids is hidden within the natural crease, while for the correction of eye rings the TRANSCONJUCTIVAL approach is used, so there is no incision or resulting scar. This operation permanently removes eye rings, as well as the excessive skin from the upper eyelids.

Pre-operative procedure

The laboratory tests are a must, type of which depends on the type of anaesthesia, i.e. local or general.

On the day of the operation you should arrive at the polyclinic fasting/ no eating or drinking at least 8 hours before the operation – in case the surgery is performed using general anaesthesia. Detailed instructions will be provided during the examination by our personnel.

Anaesthesia

The correction of upper eyelids is usually performed using local anaesthesia, while the correction of eye rings using transconjunctival approach - with no skin incision - is performed using general anaesthesia.

Operation

Correction of upper eyelids and eye rings – BLEPHAROPLASTY - is a surgical procedure that requires precise measuring and planning before the surgery itself, therefore being the so called "filigreed" operation, considering the extremely tender and sensitive tissue is involved. The excessive skin, part of the musculature and submuscular fat pads are removed from the upper eyelids The excessive fat pads forming the eye rings are removed from the lower eyelids, using a radiowave knife or laser, and sometimes even removing excessive skin.

TRANSCONJUCTIVAL METHOD for removing eye rings, which we have been using at our POLYCLINIC for many years now, includes laser of radiowave incision along the lower eyelids conjuctiva - with no skin incision or visible trace of operation. This method enables removing fat pads which cause eye rings, often even at younger age. By using this technique various complications are avoided, such as ECTROPION, i.e. outward turning of the lower eyelid, and the post-operative recovery is much faster.

Post-operative procedure

After the operation, it is desirable to put cold compresses during the first 24 hours in order to minimize bruises and avoid all toils for the next few days. Micro sutures are removed from the upper eyelids after 6 to 7 days, while on the lower eyelids usually there are no sutures or external incisions. The recovery usually lasts 5 - 7 days, after which the patient returns to everyday activities. All other instructions on post-operative procedures are available in detail from our personnel.

Facelift
(Correction of loose skin and muscles of the face and the neck)

About the operation

Facelift operation is one of the synonyms for aesthetic surgery.

The aging of the human face is an inevitable process in which both gravity and natural aging mechanisms in body cells are involved. FACELIFT, i.e. both facial and neck skin, is a procedure of rejuvenation and refreshment of the appearance of the face and the neck. Careful surgical approach and modern technology enable removing excessive sagging skin on the face, the neck and the chin, as well as the elimination of wrinkles. Using a so called SMAS technique, the muscles of the face and the neck are returned to their previous position. The achieved results dramatically refresh and rejuvenate the appearance, but always within natural limits, with no resemblance of a mask.

Pre-operative procedure

After the examination by the surgeon, a laboratory tests are also necessary, so the anaesthetist could get an insight into the patient's health condition. If you take Aspirin or other drugs that prevent blood coagulation, you should stop taking such a therapy at least two weeks before the surgery. For smokers, it is also recommended to stop smoking a few weeks before the operation. Our personnel will inform you in detail on all details regarding preparation.

Anaesthesia

Facelift is a completely painless operation and there is no pain even after the surgery. The surgery itself may be performed under general anaesthesia, as well as under the locally intensified one. The decision is made by the specialist anaesthetist, in agreement with the patient and respecting his/her wishes.

Operation

Before the operation, pictures are taken and plans are carefully made. In our institution we use SMAS technique for the FACELIFT during which, besides removing the excessive skin, the facial muscles are returned to their previous position, giving it completely natural appearance and a long-lasting result. The procedure lasts two and a half to three hours, and the patient is awake right after it, with no pain or discomfort.

Post-operative procedure

After the surgery the patient stays in the Polyclinic for a few hours to fully awake and recover, after which he/she may go home. Around the face and beneath the neck a special compression bandage is applied and removed after 24 hours, when the first bandaging takes place.

The basic recovery lasts 10 - 12 days, after which most patients return to their everyday activities.

Chemical peel
/ Dermoabrasion
/ Laser

Today certain face wrinkles, as well as various scars and changes on the skin can be effectively treated with chemical peelings, dermoabrasion or laser abrasion. These methods can be combined, both mutually and with other aesthetic procedures, such as facelift or similar.

They are used mainly with the local anaesthesia and the recovery, depending on the method, lasts from a few days up to two weeks.

The method of choice for face refreshment, which the Americans call "HEALTHY GLOW" is the chemical peeling using trichloroacetic acid (TCA). The 30 - 35% solution of TCA achieves uniform removal of epithelium surface layer, thus removing surface pigmentation, keratotic cutaneous changes and smaller facial wrinkles, simultaneously stimulating the production of skin’s own collagen, giving the face a better tension. The effect of such chemical peeling lasts up to two years, while the procedure itself takes about 15 minutes, requires no anaesthesia and the recovery period is 4 - 6 days.

DERMOABRASION is a method that uses special diamond brushes or grinders, in a high revolution speed device, which sands off surface of the skin or a scar, thus removing unwanted imperfections. It is often applied on raised scars and lesions on the skin, usually under local anaesthesia.

Augmentation mammaplasty
(Breast augmentation)

About the operation

The breast augmentation procedure by placing implants is one of the most frequent operations in aesthetic surgery.

The latest generation of implants is extremely safe, non-carcinogenic, and women may, after the implant placement, plan pregnancy, give birth and breast-feed a baby. In our institution only the highest quality implants manufactured today are used, having all required certificates in the Republic of Croatia, the EU and the USA (companies ALLERGAN, MENTHOR), and each patient receives complete documentation and implant certificate after the operation.

Since the implants are filled with a special cohesive gel, there is no more fear of cracking or spilling from the implants and spreading of its contents into the other parts of the body.

Pre-operative procedure

As with all other operations, the complete laboratory processing is necessary, together with an examination by an internist/ anaesthetist, so the patient would be optimally prepared for the surgery. Before the breast augmentation surgery a control mammography is recommended.

On the day of the operation you should arrive at the clinic fasting (no eating or drinking), bring all the personal documentation, and our personnel will provide you with all other necessary instructions before the operation in order to make the procedure for you as easy as possible.

Anaesthesia

The augmentation mammaplasty is generally performed using general anaesthesia thus giving the patient total comfort and a painless procedure. The anaesthesia is applied and supervised by an experienced anaesthesiology specialist, using the cutting-edge anaesthetic equipment and monitoring, as well as the highest quality anaesthetics, thus providing maximum safety for the patient.

Operation

The operation of breast augmentation is performed through a small incision of a few centimetres in the area of so called inframammary fold, which is a natural boundary under the breast. It can be performed with an incision around the nipple, as well as through the armpit, although the inframammary incision is recommended. The implants are always set under the breast gland tissue, and can be implanted above the pectoral muscle, below it or in the so called "dual plane" zone, i.e. between the muscles.

Besides micro drainage, which is set at the end of the procedure and is removed after 24 hours, the patient also receives a so called post-operative compression brassiere, made of comfortable material and recommended for wearing for 4 weeks after the surgery.

Post-operative procedure

After the breast augmentation surgery is completed and the patient is gently woken up from anaesthesia, the patient usually stays at the Polyclinic for 2 - 3 hours under supervision of the staff in order to completely awake and stabilise, after which he/she can be released and accompanied home. Each patient gets the number of our "emergency telephone number" which she can use to call the Polyclinic personnel at any moment. In any case, it is recommended to rest for a period of 24 - 48 hours and avoid any toil in the next 2 - 4 weeks. Our personnel will also provide you with all other detailed instructions for better organization of post-operative recovery, so you could return to your everyday activities as soon as possible.

Mastopexia
(Breast lift)

About the procedure

Aging also brings loss of elasticity of the breast skin so it becomes saggy. Mastopexia is a surgery which lifts and firms breasts, thus gaining the juvenile shape and firmness.

Pre-operative procedure

Before the surgery it is necessary to perform certain blood tests, ECG and sometimes X-ray of the lungs. After a conversation with the physician you'll learn which tests are mandatory.

Anaesthesia

This operation is performed under general anaesthesia.

Operation

The breast lift is achieved by removing excessive breast skin, lifting the nipple and areola to the appropriate position and shaping and firming mammary gland tissue. There are several various surgical procedures for achieving this objective. By incision around the areole, by vertical incision on the lower half of the breast and by so called inverted "T" incision. The type of the surgery will depend on the size and shape of the breast, the position of the nipple and areole, the extent of the sagginess of the breast and quality and elasticity of the skin.

For some women, due to the massive loss of gland tissue, it is necessary to perform the mastopexia with breast augmentation in order to correct the breast volume.

Post-operative procedure

One day after the surgery the drainage plastic tubules are removed and the patient gets a special brassiere to wear for the next 4 - 6 weeks. This brassiere makes recovery easier immediately after the surgical procedure.

Reduction mammaplasty
(Breast reduction)

About the operation

A lot of women suffer from oversized breasts that are not only aesthetic problem but also cause significant load to the vertebral column. The breast reduction is an operation procedure in which the excessive gland and fat tissue is removed, as well as the skin, in order to balance the breast size with overall body proportions.

Pre-operative procedure

Before the surgery it is necessary to perform certain blood tests, ECG and sometimes X-ray of the lungs. After a conversation with the physician you'll learn which tests are mandatory.

Anaesthesia

This operation is performed under general anaesthesia.

Operation

For the breast reduction the same incision is used as with the breast augmentation, which means that the incision can be vertical, around the nipple and down to the lower half of the breast or in the shape of inverted letter "T". The type of surgery depends on the breast size, as well as the nipple and areola position. The extent of the breast tissue reduction is very individual and depends on the wishes of the patient and operation objectives.

Post-operative procedure

One day after the surgery the drainage plastic tubules are removed and the patient gets a special brassiere to wear for the next 4 - 6 weeks. This brassiere makes recovery easier immediately after the surgical procedure.

Liposculpture
(Hydro liposuction - permanent removal of fatty deposits)

About the operation

Hydro liposuction is a procedure of permanent removal of the excessive fatty deposits using aspiration, thus forming more harmonious body contours. The procedure is also called liposculpture.

Today's technology of hydro liposuction is extremely advanced. Using external ultrasound device we soften fatty deposits and, after applying a special solution that reconstructs blood vessels making the whole process bloodless, using micro cannula, we permanently remove excessive fat tissue, sculpturing the body.

After the operation, a special corset has to be worn for about 4 weeks. Removed fat tissue never again deposits in the zones from which it has been removed, i.e. the effect achieved is permanent.

Pre-operative procedure

Before the hydro liposuction it is mandatory to perform laboratory tests, ECG and internist/ anaesthetist examination, in order to check the condition of the organism. On the day of the operation the patient should fast (no eating or drinking), while all other details will be carefully explained to you by our personnel.

Anaesthesia

The anaesthesia depends on the body regions to be treated with LIPOSUCTION. For smaller zones and smaller quantities of fat tissue for removal, the procedure can be performed under local anaesthesia. For larger zones and larger quantities of fat tissue, it is recommended to perform the operation under general anaesthesia.

Operation

Before the surgery the careful measurements and photography of the body part aimed for liposuction is performed. The surgeon then marks anatomy zones using special surgical felt pen and, after the patient receives anaesthesia, the operation can start. The operation is performed through the minimal puncture of only few millimetres, after the application of the liquid to the fat tissue area for aspiration. The ultrasound softens the adipose tissue, which is then permanently removed using special micro cannula for liposuction. After the procedure is finished, the special RESTON sponge pads are put on the treated part of the patient's body in order to minimize bruises, and the special corset is put on right away. After the surgery it is recommended to rest for a few days and to avoid toils during the next two weeks. Lymphatic drainage is recommended by all means, to speed up the disappearance of postoperative edemas. The corset put up immediately after the operation should be worn for 4 - 5 weeks.

Abdominoplasty
(Correction of loose skin and abdominal adiposity)

About the operation

The excessiveness of skin and fat tissue is frequent after pregnancy but can also be a consequence of significant loss of body weight. Abdominoplasty is an operation which removes excessive skin and fat tissue from the abdomen, with occasional reconstruction of weakened or separated muscles of the abdominal wall.

Pre-operative procedure

Before the surgery it is necessary to perform certain blood tests, ECG and sometimes X-ray of the lungs. After a conversation with the physician you'll learn which tests are mandatory.

Anaesthesia

This operation is performed under general anaesthesia

Operation

For persons with excessive tissue of small scale which is present in the lower abdomen, below the navel, the correction is sometimes possible by performing minor surgery, so called "mini abdominoplasty". This operation requires smaller horizontal incision in the lower abdomen, thus removing the excessive skin and fat tissue. In most cases the complete abdominoplasty is performed, requiring a long arc-shaped incision in the lower abdomen. The skin and the fat tissue is lifted and excessive tissue is removed. This operation requires repositioning of the navel. If the musculature is weakened, it is sewn along the mid line. This operation is frequently combined with the liposuction, in order to enhance the contour of the abdomen wall.

Post-operative procedure

One day after the operation the drainage plastic tubules are removed. The special corset has to be worn for 4-6 weeks after the operation. The pace of recovery depends on the scale of the operation.

Gynecomastia
(Reducing male breasts)

About the operation

Gynecomastia correction is an aesthetic operation aimed at reducing enlarged male breasts. In some people gynecomastia can occur as early as in puberty (juvenile form), and can also occur in older men. Gynecomastia may have quite a negative emotional effect in men. Some people with gynecomastia even avoid going to the beach because of their enlarged breasts.

Pre-operative procedure

Before the surgery it is necessary to perform certain blood tests, ECG and sometimes X-ray of the lungs. After a conversation with the physician doc. Ivo Džepina, MD, PhD you'll learn which tests are necessary.

Anaesthesia

This operation is performed under general anaesthesia.

Operation

Gynecomastia may occur due to excessive fat or gland tissue or as a combination of both tissue types. If it is a case of gynecomastia with predominantly fatty tissues, the best results of correction can be achieved by liposuction. The advantage of this type of correction is the fact that there are no scars except for two small incisions 2 mm in length used for liposuction cannula introduction and removal of the fat tissue. If the gynecomastia is predominantly in glandular form, sometimes it is necessary to surgically remove such tissue through the semi-circular incision in the lower part of the nipple.

Post-operative procedure

After the operation a corset should be worn for the next 4-6 weeks.

Small surgical procedures

Small surgical procedures

  • permanent tattoo removal
  • removal of moles, fibromas, atheromas, lipomas...
  • scar corrections

Small surgeries are numerous operations performed under local anaesthesia, of short duration, and the patient may return to his/her everyday activities immediately after, with caution and care which is to be explained in detail by our personnel.

In case of mole removal, or other skin growths, it is also recommended to perform histopathologic preparation diagnosis, which will be taken care of by our personnel.

Elongation and penis enlargement

About the operation

Lengthening and increase in penis volume can be done in one surgery or in two separate procedures. This operation can lengthen the penis for 2-4 cm and increase its volume for about 20%.

Pre-operative procedure

Before the surgery it is necessary to perform certain blood tests, ECG and sometimes X-ray of the lungs. After a conversation with the physician you'll learn which tests are necessary.

Labiaplasty
(Correction of labia minora)

About the operation

Large or asymmetrical labia can be a significant problem for women. Labiaplasty is an operating procedure that enables the correction of the size and asymmetry of the labia.

Pre-operative procedure

The labiaplasty is an operation usually performed under local anaesthesia, with no additional special preparation for the operation.

Anaesthesia

The labiaplasty is an operation usually performed under local anaesthesia.

Operation

Depending on the extent and characteristics of the tissue or the asymmetry, the tangential excision can be performed, removing the excessive tissue in a line parallel with the labia majora. In some cases the better solution is wedge resection of the excessive tissue. The tissue is sewn with absorbable sutures in the tissue so there is no need for their removal.

Post-operative procedure

The recovery after the surgery is relatively quick. After the operation, a mild swelling and a few days of slight secretion are to be expected. The intercourse is possible after 3-6 weeks.

Vaginoplasty

About the operation

During childbirth the vagina becomes stretched. Although the diameter and tonus of the vaginal walls after childbirth return to normal state, in some women the expansion remains permanent. The objective of this operation is to remove excessive vaginal wall and to tighten the muscles.

Pre-operative procedure

For the operations that require general anaesthesia the patient shall be prepared as follows:

Before the surgery it is necessary to perform certain blood tests, ECG and sometimes X-ray of the lungs. After a conversation with the physician you'll learn which tests are necessary.

Anaesthesia

This operation can be performed both under local or general anaesthesia.

Operation

During the surgery a longitudinal excision of the vaginal wall is necessary on two sides, which narrows and tightens the vaginal wall.

Post-operative procedure

After the operation it is recommended to rest for 3-5 days; a slight secretion can be expected in a period of one week. The intercourse is possible after 6 weeks.

Liposuction

About the operation

VASER liposukcija je revolucionarna nova tehnologija koja omogućuje odstranjenje neželjenih naslaga masnog tkiva i precizno trodimenzionalno oblikovanje tijela. Vaser tehnologija predstavlja zlatni standard u SAD-u i Velikoj Britaniji. Poliklinika Džepina trenutno jedina u regiji pruža tretmane ovom metodom i time se svrstava uz bok najboljim svjetskim estetskim klinikama.

Glavne prednosti Vaser tehnologije:

  • Minimalan oporavak (Vaser liposukcija je “lunch time” postupak - kod pojedinih zahvata pacijent može nastaviti s normalnim aktivnostima već sljedeći dan)
  • Minimalno invazivna - bez oštećenja krvnih žila i mišića
  • Značajno manji podljevi i oštećenja kože
  • Precizno djelovanje i na najmanja područja
  • Korištenje odstranjenih masnih stanica za korekciju određenih dijelova tijela. Moguće je vlastitim masnim naslagama oblikovati grudi
  • Stimulira proizvodnju kolagena i time omogućuje zategnutiju kožu
  • Vaser Smooth - jedina tehnologija koja omogućuje korekciju celulita

Osnovne informacije:

  • Trajanje: 1-3 sata
  • Hospitalizacija: 7-24 sata
  • Oporavak: 3-10 dana, ovisi o veličini tretiranog područja
  • Liječenje: specijalna kompresivna odjeća - 2-4 tjedna
  • Savjeti: masaža - zbog limfne drenaže i poboljšavanja cirkulacije krvi te nestnka oteklina
  • Ožiljci: najčešće manji od 1cm i obično nestanu u roku godine dana
  • Komplikacije: hematomi, seromi i infekcije

Prije operacije

Prije VASER Lipo zahvata svakako je potrebno obaviti sve laboratorijske analize, EKG, kao i pregled interniste/ anesteziologa, kako bi provjerili stanje organizma.

Tjedan-dva prije zahvata održavati hidraciju organizma - 1 litra vode dnevno. Na sam dan operacije treba biti natašte, ništa ne jesti niti piti, a sve ostale detalje pažljivo će Vam objasniti naše osoblje.

Anaesthesia

Botox

Botox

In the last two decades BOTOX has become one of the most frequently used injection treatment in aesthetic surgery and is today considered as one of the most efficient injection preparations for removing facial wrinkles, as well as eliminating sweating in the armpit area, on palms and soles. At our POLYCLINIC, we have been using BOTOX since 2001 and in the past 10 years we have applied botox in more than a thousand patients, being continuously convinced of its outstanding effect in eliminating mimic facial wrinkles. We use exclusively the original BOTOX by ALLERGAN, registered in the Republic of Croatia, which is worldwide one of the best products of its kind.

BOTOX extremely efficiently REMOVES wrinkles around the eyes, on the forehead, around the nose, as well as on the neck, while simultaneously LIFTING eyebrows, removing aging signs and to a great extension refreshes and rejuvenates the facial appearance.

The injection treatment with botox lasts about 5 - 10 minutes and, besides minimal discomfort of the pinprick by a micro-needle, there is no other discomfort, while the blue skin rarely appears around the puncture site, which disappears after 24 - 48 hours.

The effect of BOTOX is visible after 2 - 5 days, reaching its maximum within 14 days and remains for 4- 6 months, when you can repeat the treatment with no fear whatsoever.

The application of BOTOX, which is to be performed by licensed and educated physician, is extremely safe and the botox itself metabolises only locally at the injection point, not spreading through other body parts. Since this preparation has been used in medicine for more than 30 years and is also applied in neurology and ophthalmology, its implementation in aesthetic medicine is a good indicator of the safety of this type of therapy.

Fillers
(hyaluronic acid)

Fillers (hyaluronic acid)

Dermal fillers are injection preparations introduced to certain zones - wrinkles – on the face using micro-needles or cannula, in order to reduce wrinkles, refresh facial appearance or fill in the volume of the cheekbones, lips or all other facial zones affected by tissue atrophy.

HYALURONIC ACID has been a golden standard for injection therapy for many years now. It is a stabilised hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin manufactured by biotechnological procedures in strict laboratory conditions. Due to its outstanding stability and non-allergenic properties, the HYALURONIC ACID is extremely biocompatible with human tissue and can be applied without previous testing.

At our POLYCLINIC we use exclusively HYALURONIC ACID of highest quality in preparations such as JUVEDERM by ALLERGAN, which also manufactures BOTOX, or RESTYLANE, manufactured by Q-MED. Both manufacturers are properly registered in the Republic of Croatia and are among the world's highest quality manufacturers of hyaluronic acid.

The procedure of injecting hyaluronic acid is minimally discomforting since the above mentioned preparations contain local anaesthetic and the result is visible immediately after the application. Since the hyaluronic acid stimulates the increased production of the body’s own collagen, the result may be intensified in the weeks to follow.

Injection therapy with HYALURONIC ACID is used for:

  1. WRINKLES’ CORRECTION:
    • Nasolabial wrinkles
    • "Smoker's" wrinkles
    • Smile lines
    • Bags under eyes
    • Mentolabial wrinkles
    • Glabellar and forehead wrinkles
    • Scars from acne or injuries
  2. FACIAL CONTOURS SHAPING:
    • Augmenting / shaping lips
    • Shaping cheeks / cheekbones
    • Chin shaping
    • Nose shaping / nose defects
    • Eyebrow shaping
  3. REJUVENATING OF DRY, EXHAUSTED SKIN OF THE FACE AND CLEAVAGE

The duration of the effect of the hyaluronic acid preparations is usually 8 - 12 months, although some preparations, depending on the cohesiveness of the acid itself, may last up to 16 months and even longer, depending on the preparation type and the manufacturer, as well as on each individual organism and its absorbing abilities.
